THIS WEEK IN LIONS BASEBALL

Mentioned on a previous post, the Lions opened up their beautiful new home field with a walk-off come-from-behind 4-3 victory over Norwood in the bottom of the 7th inning. A special way to cap off a special day in front of many NRHS baseball alumni and their former coaches Jim Robinson and Mike Simpson.

On Wednesday, the Lions fell short to the defending league champions CNE by the score of 6-5. Down 5-1, the Lions started their comeback in the bottom of the 6th with 3 runs, making the score 5-4. Giving up a run in the top of the 7th, the Lions were able again to mount a threat in the bottom of the 7th, but fell short by a run.

A few defensive errors early in the ball game were too much for the Lions to overcome.

That wraps up the spring break week for the Lions, as some members of the team are traveling with the singing group of NRHS for the remainder of the week. Next week, the Lions have three important league games: Monday at Bethel, Wednesday at Western Brown, and Friday vs. Goshen at home. All game times are 4:30.

Players of the week for the Lions: Zak Ritter, Steven Binder, Tanner Wolfe, and Kevin Reid.
