Girls defeat CNE 5-0

The girls tennis team defeated CNE by a score of 5-0. Those winning their matches were,Casey White 1st Singles, Sarah Jones 2nd Singles, Megan Tucker 3rd Singles, Miranda Stilwell & Alex White 1st Doubles, Savannah Glenn & Marisa David 2nd Doubles. The girls improved their season record to 6-5 and will face Amelia on Monday.

Mens soccer lose to Batavia

Mens soccer lost last night to league foe Batavia, with the final score being 6-1. The Lions lone goal was scored by Zak Ritter. The team has been working hard this week and hope to get back to their winning ways against Georgetown Monday afternoon.

Victory for Lady Lions Varsity Soccer!

The girls varsity soccer team was able to rise from their slump and record a "W" over Batavia on Thursday. The team played well having our highest scoring game for the season with 4 goals! Kelsey Hensley scored two goals, with Cassie Grooms and Emily Barcheski both scoring one! Assists were made by Kelli Bosse with three, and Aly Skaggs with one. The defensive also did a wonderful job in keeping Batavia's speedy frontline from running the show! The team looks to continue playing well as they travel next Tuesday, to Williamsburg to take on the Wildcats at 7pm.

Varsity Volleyball defeats Felicity

Tonight the lady lions posted a victory over the cardinals in three games 25-12, 25-23, 25-20. Brittney Strunk had 17 kills, while Lindsey Blankenship had 5 blocks. Myla Gordo lead the team in Aces with 5 and was tied with Sarah Shoemaker with 14 digs. Hannah Lang had 20 assists. Saturday morning the girls take on Bethel, come cheer them on.

N.R.H.S. Golfers Place 2nd as Winds Howl at Cedar Trace

The N.R.H.S. Golfers placed 2nd at Cedar Trace Golf Course during the 3rd round of the S.B.A.A.C. Golf Tournament. The Lion Linksters shot a 184 in winds that hit 30-40 mph making the conditions tough for all golfers. Leading the Lions in scoring were Tyler Flood (45), Austin Skaggs and Connor Tidball (46), Henry Heidlage (47), Evan McKinley (50), and Austin Wells (52). The score helped move the Lions to within 3 shots of Amelia for 3rd place overall in the tournament. The Lion Linkster's record now sits at 17-12 on the season. The Lions will play Amelia and Batavia in a Tri-Match on 9/22 @ Friendly Meadows starting at 4:00 pm.

Lion Golfers Blastoff Rockets as a Flood hits Lindale

That was not a fire you saw coming from the Lindale Golf Course on Wednesday night. It was the N.R.H.S. Golf team burning up the front nine by shooting a scorching 154 to extinguish the visiting C.N.E. Rockets. It was their lowest total of the year as three golfers were in the 30's. The final score of the match was 154-190. Leading the Lion Linksters in scoring were Medalist Tyler Flood (37), Austin Wells (38), Connor Tidball (39), Austin Skaggs (40), Evan McKinley and Henry Heidlage (42). The Lion Golfers record now stands at 13-11 on the season. The Lions hope to continue their hot play when they travel to Cedar Trace Golf Course on 9/16 to play in the 3rd round of the S.B.A.A.C. Tournament at 4:00 pm.

The Lions also defeated the C.N.E. golf team in a J.V. match Wednesday by the score of 160-195. Leading the young Lions in scoring were Erik Hermann (38), David Ohntrup (43), Hunter Blankenship (45), and Matt Rydzewski (48). The victory pushes the J.V. team's record to 2-0 on the season.

Tennis Vs Deer Park 9/14/10

The girls tennis team defeated Deer Park by a score of 3-2. Those winning their matches were, Megan Tucker 3rd Singles, Miranda Stilwell & Alex White 1st Doubles, Savannah Glenn & Kayla Benjamin 2nd Doubles. The girls improved their season record to 5-5 and will face the Lady Rockets of CNE on Thursday.

Tennis 9/13/10

The girls tennis team lost a close match to McNick Monday. All matches went to three sets. Those winning their matches were, Casey White 1st Singles, and Marisa David and Savannah Glenn 2nd Doubles. The Lady Lions season record is 4-5.

Lion Golfers Stand 4th after 2nd S.B.A.A.C. Match

The N.R.H.S. golfers stand in 4th Place after the 2nd round of the S.B.A.A.C. tournament match held at Friendly Meadows on Tuesday. Leading the Lions in scoring were Evan McKinley (41), Tyler Flood and Connor Tidball (45), Austin Skaggs (46), Henry Heidlage (47), and Austin Wells (48). The Lions are out of 3rd place by only 5 strokes. The Lions will tee it up against C.N.E. tonight at Lindale Golf Course Wednesday at 4:00 pm. The Lion Linksters record in now 12-11 on the season.

Volleyball team falls to Gorshen

After a very strong start winning the first game 25-11, the girls fell flat at the start of the 2nd game and could not recover, losing the next 3 games. Sarah Shoemaker lead the team with 19 digs and Lindsey Blankenship had 5 blocks. Brittney Strunk had 6 aces and she was tied with Lindsey with a team leading 8 kills. Thursday the girls take on Felicity away.

NRHS promoting safe teen driving

The New Richmond High School athletic department is teaming with American Family Insurance to promote safe driving by teenagers and can win $15,000 in a contest to see which high school can get the most pledges. New Richmond is currently in 4th place in its division.

Anyone 14 or older (including students, parents, siblings, relatives and friends) can complete the Teen Safe Driver Pledge so please forward this information to your contacts and ask them to take the pledge for New Richmond High School.

Volley For The Cure fundraiser


The New Richmond High School volleyball team is holding its annual Volley For the Cure fundraiser to benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to the fight against breast cancer.

The fundraiser includes the team's annual T-Shirt and Hoodie sale. T-shirts range in price from $6 to $8 depending on the size and hoodies from $18 to $20 depending on the size. You can download the order form on the link below.

In 2007 the New Richmond volleyball teams raised nearly $425 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. In 2008 and 2009 this amount increased to $525 and $1025, respectively.

This year's Volley For The Cure game is on Monday, October 4th, against Bethel during homecoming week. Admission is only $1 for anyone wearing a Volley for the Cure shirt. All proceeds will be sent to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

"The volleyball players would also like to invite everyone to the match so we can “Pack the Stands with Pink,” said Lions volleyball coach Carla Corbin. "The volleyball teams would like to make this a community wide event and raise even more money this year."

Mens soccer wins against Fayetteville

In some tough conditions, and a strong push near the end of the match, the boys hung on to defeat Fayetteville by a score of 3-2. It certainly felt good to get a victory after 2 tough league losses and a suspended game. The boys will have 2 days of practice before taking on league foe Batavia Thursday evening.

Girls varsity soccer suffer tough loss to Bethel

The girls varsity soccer team attempted to change their luck and grab an important league win last night against the Tigers. Unfortunately, they came up short. Bethel scored a goal in the first half to take the lead going into half time. The Lions came out the second half with a plan. Sarah Glenn managed to capitalize on an opportunity and scored, tying the game 1-1. However, Bethel came back, just minutes later, and scored again. The final score was 2-1 with Bethel taking the victory. The girls will play at CHCA this Saturday at 3:00pm.

Girls varsity soccer lose to CHCA over weekend

The girls varsity soccer team traveled to CHCA on Saturday afternoon. The inclement weather, and several injuries didn't help the team as they lost 2-0. The team is ready to rest and recover, as they will not play till Thursday when they take on the Batavia Bulldogs at 7pm.

Broncos Buck Lion Golfers

The N.R.H.S. golfers traveled to White Oak Golf Course Monday night for a match with Western Brown. The Lions fell to the Broncos by a score of 170-177. Leading the Lions in scoring were Austin Skaggs (42), Evan McKinley (43), Austin Wells, (45), Tyler Flood (47), Henry Heidlage (51), and Connor Tidball (52). The Lions record in now 10-8 on the season. The Linksters will play in the 2nd round of the S.B.A.A.C. Tournament Tuesday at Friendly Meadows.
