LION GOLFERS GARNER ALL-LEAGUE HONORS

The New Richmond Golfers finished very strong in the S.B.A.A.C. League Tournament this season. The Lion Golfers placed four golfers on the first team all-league roster. They were Senior Austin Skaggs, Juniors Austin Wells and Henry Heidlage, and Freshman Chris Mazzaro. Junior Evan McKinley finished on the second team all-league roster and missed first team by one stroke. CONGRATULATIONS MEN ON A JOB WELL DONE!!!!

LION GOLFERS ARE S.B.A.A.C. AMERICAN DIVISION CHAMPIONS

For the first time since 1998 the New Richmond Golfers find themselves on top of the S.B.A.A.C. golf leader board. The Lions outdistanced second place Amelia by 42 strokes to secure the victory at Cedar Trace Golf Course on Saturday. The final scores were: New Richmond (959), Amelia (1001), Western Brown (1109), Bethel (1115), C.N.E. (1172), and Goshen (1356). The Lions will continue their season on Thursday with a match against Hamilton Badin and Talawanda at Potters Park in Hamilton. The Lions will tee it up at the O.H.S.A.A. Sectional Golf Tournament on October 4th. The Lions record now sits at 58-6 on the season. GREAT JOB MEN!!!!

New Richmond finishes 3rd in 18 hole finally of S.B.A.A.C Tournament

The Lion Golfers finished third in the 18 hole match held at Cedar Trace Golf Course. The Lions shot a 326 as a team to finish behind Blanchester (317) and Amelia (321). Other team scores were: East Clinton (346), Bethel (365), Western Brown (386), Williamsburg (394), Batavia (398), C.N.E. (404), Georgetown (414), and Goshen (510). Leading the Lions in scoring was Austin Wells and Austin Skaggs (81's), Chris Mazzaro and Evan McKinley (82's), Henry Heidlage (89) and Kyle Heidlage (103).

JV VOLLEYBALL ANNOUNCEMENT

Congratulations to the JV Volleyball team on their win against Williamsburg last night 25-19 and 25-15. The team was led by Wendy Applemann with 8 kills, Emily Hensley with 3 and Ashlee Lewis with 2. Erica Lumpkins and Emily Carter with 3 assists and Rachel Zawacki with 5 digs. Top Servers of the game were Michaela Nordyke with 6 serves and 2 aces also Emily Hensley with 5 serves and 2 aces. A great job was done by all to secure their victory.

girls varsity soccer game ends with a tie against Felicity

The girls varsity soccer team tied Felicity with a 1-1 score. The Lady Lions scored in the first half with a deflected ball off the Cardinal's defense. Felicity answered back with two minutes to play in the game with a free kick outside the penatly box, scoring the tying goal. The team travels to Western Brown on Monday, September 26th to play the Broncos at 7pm.

Girls varsity soccer records a win against Williamsburg

The varsity girls soccer team beat Williamsburg 3-0. Cassidy Martin with the help of the defensem, recorded her first shut-out for the season. The defense included: Jill Flenniken, Cassie Byrd, Kayla Owens, Hannah Murphy, Samantha McDowell, Madeline Farmer, and Bailey Workman. Scoring for the Lady Lions was Kelsey Fondelier, Savannah Glenn, and Lexy Stamper with an assist by Savannah Glenn. The girls look to play Felicity at home Thursday, September 22nd, at 7pm.

Lion Golfers Post 3rd win in S.B.A.A.C. Tournament

The Lion Golfers took their third victory in the S.B.A.A.C. Tournament at White Oak Golf Course on on rainy Wednesday evening. The Lions topped second place Western Brown by the score of 162-176. Leading the Lions in scoring was Henry Heidlage with a 38 followed by Austin Skaggs (40) and Austin Wells (41). Also scoring and playing well for the Lions were Chris Mazzaro (43), Kyle Heidlage (48) and Evan McKinley (51). The Lions hold a 47 stroke lead going into the final 18 hole round to be held at Cedar Trace Golf Course on Saturday morning at 8:00 am. All six New Richmond golfers are vying for First Team and Second Team honors on Saturday. The Lions record now sits at 50-4 on the season.

Lion Golfers Fly By the Barons

The Lion Golfers continued there strong season by knocking off Amelia at Friendly Meadows on Tuesday by the score of 162-178. The Lions were led in scoring by Co-Medalists Austin Wells and Henry Heidlage with 37's. Also scoring and playing well for the Lions were Chris Mazzaro (43), Evan McKinley (45), Austin Skaggs (46), and David Ohntrup (47). The Lions continue their S.B.A.A.C. League Tournament play on Wednesday at White Oak Golf Course. The Lions now sit at 45-4 on the season.

Boys soccer ties Fayetteville

New Richmond took an early lead with a goal by senior Tyler Loyd and the Lions carried that 1 goal lead through most of the game. New Richmond created numerous scoring opportunities and could not put the ball in the back of the net, while the defense held strong not allowing many threats. With less than 1 minute to play Fayetteville scored the tying goal sending the Lions home with their 5th tie of the season.

THE VARSITY FOOTBALL TEAM PLAYED A GREAT GAME AGAINST WESTERN BROWN. NICK HILL CONTINUES TO LEAD THE OFFENSE WITH 151 YARDS RUSHING. JAY GLUECK RUSHED FOR 2 TD'S, DERRICK DILLOW, AND JAKE GUNDLER EACH RUSHED FOR A TD, AND GUNDLER CAUGHT A 31 YARD TD PASS FROM DILLOW. DANNY SCHOLZ, JAMES WHITE, AND CLAY LOADMAN WERE THE LEADERS ON DEFENSE. THREE LION INTERCEPTIONS: JAKE GUNDLER, IN THE END ZONE TO TURN AWAY A WB DRIVE; DANNY SCHOLZ, WHO RETURNED IT FOR 51 YARDS; AND JAY GLUECK, WHO RETURNED IT 16 YDS, WERE BIG PLAYS FOR THE DEFENSE.

MONDAY EVENING AT WESTERN BROWN, THE FRESHMAN FOOTBALL TEAM LOST TO WESTERN BROWN 28-0, AND THE JV TEAM LOST TO WESTERN BROWN 30 - 12.

THE VARSITY FOOTBALL TEAM NEXT PLAYS AT CNE 9/23, AND THE JV TEAM PLAYS CNE AT HOME MONDAY 9/26.

JV VOLLEYBALL

Congratulations to the JV Volleyball team on their double win against Mariemont and CCD on Saturday 9/17/11. The team won 2 out of 3 games against Mariemont 23-25, 25-20, 25-23. It was a long battle then against CCD in 2 games; 25-12 and 25-15.
