GIRLS TRACK NORWOOD INVITE

Congratulations to the girls track team for winning the Norwood Invite tonight. The team had the opportunity to see some teams we will be competing against in districts such as, Finneytown, CHCA, and Reading. Lion's Fastpitch picks up 2nd win

Cidney Adams hurled her 2nd complete game against league rival Goshen with a 6-4 win. Adams helped her cause at the plate with an RBI triple.  Bethany Smith led the way at the plate going 2 for 3 with a double and 2 RBI's. Kelsy Kirschner was 2 for 3, Riley Deweese 2 for 3 with 2 doubles. Morgan Powers returned to the diamond off an injury with a strong defensive performance at shortstop and hit a double at the dish.  The Lions travel to Felicity on Monday to do battle with the Cardinals at 4:30 pm.

GIRLS TRACK NEW RICHMOND RELAYS

Congratulations to the girls track team for winning the New Richmond Relays last night. The team placed 1st in 8 of the 14 events, and 3rd or better in 12 of the 14 events. The girls are now 17-0. Congratulations to both the boys and girls for winning the Combined total for the New Richmond Relays last night.

Congratulations to Olivia Behymer for breaking the 200 Dash record set 29 years ago with a time of 26.35. Olivia now holds 5 school records.

Lion's Fastpitch Softball

The Lion's have had a tough 1-7 start to the season.  The lone victory came with a 7-4 defeat of Norwood on April 3rd.  A tough schedule and untimely injuries have hindered success so far.  The ladies continue to work hard to improve.  They have a home game vs. Goshen today @ 4:30 pm.

JV SOFTBALL

Though the JV Softball Team was defeated by Western Brown (8-15) last night the team had outstanding accomplishments.  Alli Skaggs pitched a great 5 innings and also had two home runs and two rbi. Rachel Zawacki and April Schmidt hit doubles and also had two rbi. Lew Watkins had three singles followed by more hard hit singles from Carrie Buckley, Lindsay Slone, Kylie Meder and Christin Smith.  All those on our injured list will be ready to go against Western Brown again in two weeks.

NR Boys Tennis Team Wins Hard Fought Match 4-1 Against Maderia

The New Richmond boys tennis team improved to 6-1 on the season with a tough 4-1 victory at Maderia on Wednesday.  Winners for the lions included;

2nd Singles: David Ohntrup: 7-6(4), 7-6(1)
3rd Singles: Newt McCullom: 6-2, 6-7(2), 6-3

1st Doubles: Zach Manning & Matt Rydzewski: 6-2, 6-0
2nd Doubles: Evan McKinley & Cody Kirschner: 5-7, 6-2, 7-5

The lions play Goshen at home on Thursday, and the JV tennis team plays McNick's varsity team at home on Friday.

Boys Track and Field Finish 1st at New Richmond Relays


Congratulations to the boys track and field team for their first place finish at the New Richmond Relays last night. Finishing in first place for their events was the 4x1 Mile Relay consisting of Bobby Bingham, Luke Gilday, Charlie Spicker and Zach Fields; the 1600 Medley consisting of Darren Porter, Austen Craig, CJ Grogan and Austin Torrens; the 4x400 Relay consisting of Austin Torrens, Alex Nelson, Austin Craig and Colt Reese; the 4x800 Relay consisting of Bobby Bingham, Luke Gilday, Silas O’Dell and Zach Fields; the Distance Medley consisting of Austin Torrens, Alex Nelson and Bobby Bingham and Luke Gilday; the Discus consisting of Branston Evans and Justin Patrick and High Jump consisting of Pierce Burnam and CJ Grogan. Finishing in second place for their events was Shuttle Hurdles consisting of Pierce Burnam, Aaron Pollard, Colt Reese and Miles Burnam; Shot Put consisting of Branston Evans and JR Forsee; Pole Vault consisting of Aaron Pollard and Tyler Anderson. Finishing in third place for their events was the 4x200 Relay consisting of Micael Huber, Austin Craig, Miles Burnam and Colt Reese; and the Long Jump consisting of Zach Fields and Aaron Pollard. The team will travel to Norwood on Friday for the Norwood Invitational.

NR Boys Tennis Team Takes Over 1st Place in League With 5-0 Over Western Brown

The New Richmond boys tennis team defeated Western Brown 5-0 on Tuesday and remains the last unbeaten team in the conference.  Winners for the lions included;

2nd Singles: David Ohntrup: 3-6, 6-0, 6-2
3rd Singles: Newton McCullom: 6-1, 6-4

1st Doubles: Henry Heidlage & Zach Manning: 6-0, 6-4
2nd Doubles: Evan McKinley & Alex Grooms: 7-5, 2-6, 6-1

The boys tennis team travels to Maderia on Wednesday to play what has typically been a tough match against a good Maderia squad.

Lion's Tennis Team Bounces Back From Milford Loss to Defeat Bethel 5-0

The boys tennis team bounced back from a tough Milford loss to defeat Bethel 5-0 and remain perfect in league matches and 4-1 overall.  Winners for the lions included;

1st Singles: Henry Heidlage: 6-3, 6-2
2nd Singles: David Ohntrup: 6-0, 6-1
3rd Singles: Newton McCullom: 6-0, 6-1

1st Doubles: Zach Manning & Evan McKinley: 6-3, 6-2
2nd Doubles: Alex Bach & Erik Hermann: 6-1, 6-1

The boys tennis team plays Western Brown on Tuesday at Western Brown.

JV SOFTBALL

The JV Softball Team played a tense game against the Amelia Barons Friday 4/5/13.  Maintaining the lead 6-3 until the sixth inning when the Barons took the lead 9-6.  Fighting back in the seventh the Lady Lions tied the game up 9-9 but fell short in the bottom of the seventh losing to Amelia, 9-10. A great job was done by all.
