Lady Lions Fall Short vs WIlliamsburg

Thursday, Jan 14 home vs Williamsburg: After trailing by as many as 11 the lady lions fell short in their comeback attempt last night vs the visiting Williamsburg Wildcats. After trailing the entire game the girls faced a 1 point deficit in the last minute of the game but failed to get a key stop on defense and failed to score on the ensuing offensive possession. It was an exciting game and the girls played hard and played as a team. The Lady Lions were led once again by Lindsey Blankenship who had 18 points and 10 rebounds, but it was a solid all-around team effort that fell just short. Next @Blanchester Tuesday, Jan 19.

NR BBALL vs Norwood

The boys basketball team lost a tough matchup against a solid Norwood team on Saturday Night. The lions held Norwood to 30 points through three quarters, but gave up 24 in the 4th quarter. The lions shooting in the 4th quarter went cold, leading to many of Norwood's points in the period. The Lions were led by Jake Bostic with 10 points, Nick Hill with 8 points and 5 assists, Dylan Phillips with 7 points and 9 rebounds, and Will Shoemaker with 6 points and 9 rebounds. The Freshman and JV teams both recorded big wins for the program. The Alumni game took place before these two games and the showing was good. 25 Alumni came back to show off their skills, and to support the program. The new flag in the gym looks great, and the hall of fame banquet was very nice. The four inductees were well deserving of our hall of fame, and I was proud to be a part of the ceremony. The lions next game is at East Clinton Tuesday night. The lions are looking to rebound from the tough loss.
Until next time,
Coach McMonigle
