Steven Binder had two hits including a 2-run home run and Kevin Hamilton, Michael Skaggs, Jeff Case and Will Shoemaker each had two hits as the Lions won their season opener 13-1 Tuesday at Western Hills.
Binder's home run came in the first inning and proved to be all the offense the Lions needed as starter Austin Warden, Binder and Ryan Waters limited the Mustangs to only one hit.
The Lions opener their home season Wednesday against Taylor in a 4:30 p.m. start and will host Bethel at 4:30 on Thursday in their Southern Buckeye opener. New Richmond closes out the opening week of the season at Reading on Friday.
The New Richmond JV baseball team defeated Western Hills 22-6.

Physicals
June 12th physcials will be offered at Turpin HS from 8:00-9:00 am. Wellington will be offering this service on a first come basis. The cost is $10.00 and you need to bring your physical form. Each athlete will also receive a free t-shirt.

Paige Diers a hit at Heidelberg
TIFFIN, Ohio -- New Richmond's Paige Diers, a freshman at Heidelberg University, has played a pivotal role in the Heidelberg softball team’s best start in school history.

Playing center field, Diers leads the team with three stolen bases and is second on the team with five walks. Diers is also second on team with four sacrificed bunts.
Heidelberg, under the guidance of second-year head coach Betsy Hada, opened the season with nine-straight wins and currently stands at 13-3 overall. Its nine-game winning streak ties for the second longest winning streak in the history of the program. Heidelberg is a member of the 10-team Ohio Athletic Conference.
