JV VOLLEYBALL

Congratulations to the JV Volleyball team on their win against Manchester last night in two games; 25-21 and 25-19. The girls worked together and did not give up till the victory was sealed.

Volleyball team defeats Manchester

The varsity volleyball team was able to post a victory tonight despite missing senior Myla Gordo. Lindsey Blankenship stepped up tonight playing all the way around the court and Sarah Abellanida also helped pick up the slack in digs. Brittney Strunk lead the team with 27 digs. Lindsey had 13 kills and 3 blocks, while Hannah Lang lead the team with 7 aces and 22 assists. Tomorrow the teams take on Seven Hill at home. Go Lions!

Hall, Lions win NR Cross Country Invitational

Timmy Hall led the field as the New Richmond boys took the championship of the 2010 New Richmond Cross Country Invitational Saturday.

Hall won the individual race by 14 seconds, covering the 5K New Richmond course in 16:49.52. Alex Ariapad finished 4th, Ben Fitzgerral 6th, Luke Gilday 11th and Grant Gilman 17th to give New Richmond's its winning team score of 39, well ahead of second place Bethel (82).

New Richmond's girls finished third in their section of the meet with freshman Olivia Behymer the top runner with an 8th place finish in 22:32.88. Veronica Burnham was 13th, Paige Anderson 24th, Emily Erdman 35th, and Juliane Molitor 39th for New Richmond.

Lions defeat Northeastern, 40-7

Nick Williams ran for 102 yards and scored two touchdowns, Joey McCabe scored on a 26-yard pass reception and a 52-yard interception return to lead the Lions to a 40-7 win Friday over Clermont Northeastern.

Williams scored his TDs in the first quarter on a 10-yard run and a 10-yard TD recepiton from Derrick Dillow to put the Lions up 14-0 and that was all New Richmond's steller defense needed to turn back the Rockets.

Nick Hill and Austin Warden scored NR's other two touchdowns, both coming on 10-yard runs.

The defense held CNE to only three first downs (two of which came on New Richmond penalties) and 43 yards total offense.

The 3-2 s play at 1-4 Blanchester this Friday before returning home to face Amelia Oct. 9 for Homecoming.

Lion Golfers Represent with All-League Honors

The Lion Golf Team were well represented this year in All-League honors. Senior Tyler Flood and Junior Connor Tidball were named 1st team All-S.B.A.A.C. after the 18 hole final match held at White Oak Golf Course Saturday. Making the 2nd team All-League were Sophomore Evan McKinley and Junior Austin Skaggs.

Lion Linksters Runner-ups at S.B.A.A.C. 18 Hole Finale

The Lion Linksters continued their solid play in the 18 hole end of the year tournament held at White Oak Golf Course on Saturday morning. The Lions teed it up against 9 other teams from S.B.A.A.C. and shot a 351 to finish in 2nd place for the 18 hole match. They won the American portion of the tournament and only trailed Blanchester , who shot a 321. On the season the Lions finished 4th in the American Division finishing only 15 strokes out of second place and 28 strokes out of 1st place. Leading the Lions in scoring for the 18 hole match were Connor Tidball (86), Henry Heidlage (87), Tyler Flood (88), Evan McKinley (90), and Austin Wells and Austin Skaggs (93). The Lions will finish their regular season schedule Monday at Lindale Golf Course with a match against Norwood at 4:30 pm. The Lion Linksters will travel to Sharon Woods on Thursday morning to compete in the Sectional tournament at 8:30 am. The Lions record now stands at 27-17 on the season
