JV Girls Soccer Defeat Bethel

The JV lady lion’s soccer team defeated Bethel last night with a score of 2-0. Both goals were scored by Katelyn Chumley with assists by Grace Jaehnen and Christin Gray. The defense was led by Madison Holdsworth in goal and Alexis Meyer, Juliane Molitor, Christin Gray, Emma Field, Audrey Feiler, Brittney O'Brien, and Andi Bateman all contributed to the defensive shut-out

FRESHMAN/JV VOLLEYBALL

The Freshman Lady Lions were defeated by Western Brown after a long battle 22-25 and 21-25. Likewise the JV Lady Lions were also defeated 9-25 and 15-25.

Lady Lions tie Lady Tigers

The girls varsity soccer team tied Bethel on Thursday night with a score of 2-2. At half-time the Lions were down 1-0, however they really stepped up and Sarah Glenn scored with an assist by Kelsey Hensley after only 5 minutes into the second half. Bethel answered back with another goal with only minutes to play in the game. That didn't stop New Richmond from fighting back with a goal with less than a minute in the game by Courtney Grogan. The Lions defense including Cassidy Martin, Jill Flenniken, Cassie Byrd, Kayla Owens, and Madeline Farmer did a tremendous job in holding Bethel to only two goals. The girls prepare for their next contest at home against Eastern on Monday, September 12th at 5pm.

New Richmond Golfers 2nd in S.B.A.A.C. After Round One

The New Richmond Golfers traveled to Deer Track Golf Course on Thursday to play in the first round of the S.B.A.A.C. Tournament. The Lions are currently one stroke off the lead. The final scores of the first round were: Amelia 163, New Richmond 164, Western Brown 182, C.N.E. 193, Bethel 195, and Goshen 211. This was the first 9 holes of the 54 hole tournament. Leading the Lions in scoring was Chris Mazzaro (39), Austin Skaggs (40), Kyle Heidlage (42), Austin Wells (43), Evan McKinley (44), and Henry Heidlage (46). The Lions play at Lindale Golf Course Monday to play Amelia and Goshen in a Tri-Match before heading to Friendly Meadows on Tuesday for the 2nd round of the S.B.A.A.C. Tournament. The Lions record now stands at 29-4 on the season.

FRESHMAN/JV VOLLEYBALL

The freshmen lady lions volleyball team was defeated by Georgetown last night 21-25 and 24-26. The jv volleyball was also defeated by Georgetown 22-25 and 11-25.

girls varsity soccer lose to Amelia

The girls varsity soccer team lost to the Amelia Barons last night, 7-0. The team played a very defensive game. The team plays at Bethel on Thursday, September 8th at 7pm. Bethel will be another league contest.

New Richmond Golfers Ranked #7 in the City

The New Richmond Golf Team has been ranked # 7 in the city in this weeks Cincinnati Enquirer Coaches poll. The Lions garnered 2 first place votes and 44 votes overall. The team moved up one spot from last weeks ranks. Excellent job men and keep up the good work.

JV VOLLEYBALL

The JV Volleyball team played Bethel last night winning the first game 25-11, but fell short in the second and third games 13-25 and 23-25.

Boys soccer plays Amelia to a tie

The Lions appeared to control possession for the majority of the first half of play.
Amelia came out of half time ready to play creating numerous scoring opportunities allowing them to score the games first goal. The pregame talk was focused on not quitting and the team showed great resilience. Freshman CJ Grogan scored the equalizer deep in the second half. Solid defensive efforts by Michael Huber, Jesse Feiler and goalie Nathan Dixon held off any attempts by the Barons. A well played game ended in a tie. The boys turn around and play league foe Bethel at home Thursday.

Volleyball beats Bethel

Tonight the Varsity volleyball team defeated Bethel in 5 games. Team leaders included Sarah Shoemaker with 17 kills and 27 digs. Hannah Lang had 7 aces and 32 assists. Eleanor Wildey had 14 kills and 4 aces, and Rachel Heflin had 22 digs. Tomorrow the teams take on Georgetown, with the addition of a freshman game starting at 4pm.

Lion Golfers Blow by Goshen at Windy Deer Track

The Lion Linksters traveled to Deer Track Golf Course to play Goshen on Tuesday night. The match was played under very difficult conditions with high winds, light rain and cool temperatures, but the Lions came out on top with a 163-202 victory. Leading the Lions was medalist Cris Mazzaro with a one-over-par 36. Following close behind was Evan McKinley with a 41. Rounding out the Lion's scoring were Austin Skaggs and Kyle Heidlage (43's) , David Ohntrup (45), and Austin Wells (50). The Lions will tee it up against the Amelia Barons on Wednesday starting at 4:00. The Lions record now stands at 25-3 on the season.

Rockets defeat Lady Lions

The girls varsity soccer team fell to the CNE Rockets on Thursday. The heat, along with several injuries, kept the team from defeating the tough team. The Lions were losing 3-0 at the half, but after a much cooler second half, they were able to come back with a goal! Kelsey Hensley had an assist to Courtney Grogan who shot and scored. The final score was 4-1, CNE over New Richmond. The girls will prepare for their next contest at Amelia on Tuesday, September 6th at 7pm.
