Girls varsity soccer game against Bethel rescheduled

The girls varisty soccer game that was rained out on September 8th has been rescheduled for Saturday, October 3rd at 10:00am.

League win over Western Brown

This was the teams first game since last Wednesday and it showed with a slow start. After the first 15 minutes of play the boys started to put it together and defeated the Broncos 4-0. Goals were scored by Sam Anderson, Tyler Loyd, Randy Durbin, and Sam Lefler. Casey Ware recorded his third shut out of the year with 11 saves. We have a tough schedule next week playing Fayettville on Monday, Batavia on Tuesday, and Georgetown on Thursday. Hope to see you there.

Lady Lions Soccer Victory over Western Brown!

Thursday night the varsity girls soccer team came ready to play against the Broncos and won! The only goal of the game was scored from the 30 yard line by Senior, Noelle Schickling! Freshman, Cassidy Martin has several outstanding saves and ended up with her first shut out for her high school career! The girls played as a team, and it showed. We are nursing some injuries from the game, and plan to return on Monday when we play at Batavia.

Young Lions finish 4th in first SBAAC match

The New Richmond golfers finished 4th in the first SBAAC match of the season held at Deer Track Golf Course in Goshen. The team shot a round of 191. The Lions were led in scoring by Tyler Flood (42), Evan McKinley (47), Jake Schumacher (50), Austin Wells (51), Matt Ryzdweski (54) and David Ohntrup (58). The Lions will play their next SBAAC match next Tuesday at Friendly Meadows.

LADY LIONS VARSITY VOLLEYBALL

The Lady Lions were defeated in 5 games last night by the Bethel tigers. It was a battle until the end. The first game was won by the Lady Lions 31-29, then followed by a lost of 14-25. The Lady Lions struggled in the third game and lost 22-25, but came back fighting in the fourth and won 25-13. Now 2 games each the uproar began; the fans were cheering, chanting and stomping in the stands for their team. The lady lions fighting to the end fell short 8-15 and was defeated. We will see Bethel on our home court Saturday 9/19/09 and it will be a match to watch. Come and cheer the Lady Lions on to a victory.

Cross Country: Mason Invitational Schedule (Sat., September 12th)

All cross country team members need to be at the school at 7:40 a.m. this Sat., September 12th to board the bus for the Mason Invitational.

Cross Country: Boys Finish 1st, Girls 2nd at Western Brown Invitational

The New Richmond boys and girls cross country teams had an impressive showing at the Western Brown Invitational. The boys claimed 1st place at the invitational with the closest team 28 points behind. The girls team claimed 2nd place, beating out Glen Este in a tie breaker. Top runners included:

Freshmen defeat Anderson, 16-0

The New Richmond freshman football team defeated Anderson 16-0 Wednesday night at Anderson to improve to 2-0 on the season.

The Lions, who opened their season with a 21-6 win last week at Roger Bacon, scored on a 35-yard interception return by Matt Forsee and a fullback dive by Kevin Reid. Quarterback Jake Preston passed for two 2-point conversions.

Clay Loadman led the Lions on defense with five tackles for losses.

The New Richmnd freshmen will host Milford at noon on Saturday and Glen Este at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16.

Girls varsity soccer game time change

The Varsity game scheduled against CHCA on Saturday, September 26th has been changed to 3:00pm. The JV game against CHCA has been canceled.

Rainy Night for Lady Lions Soccer

We started Tuesday night's game against Bethel's JV team under clear skies. By half time the thunder had started and just minutes into the 2nd half, the first bolt of lightening struck. The score was 5-0 Bethel, and they called the game. Varsity's game was canceled and will be rescheduled for a later date. The girls JV are headed to North Adams tonight for a victory!

Tennis 9/8/09

The Lady Lions tennis team defeated Felicity 3-2. Winners included, Casey White 2nd singles, Vada Stillwell/Megan Tucker 1st doubles, and Alex White/Marisa David 2nd doubles.

N.R. Golf Match with Goshen is suspended by weather

The golf match that was being played between New Richmond and Goshen was suspended Tuesday because of lightning. No date has been set to finish the match.

LADY LIONS VARSITY VOLLEYBALL

Congratulations to the Lady Lions who fought hard against Fayetteville last night and brought home the win. The girls won 3 out of 4 games 27-25, 17-25, 27-25, and 25-17. There is alot of sickness taking a toll on our players, but they were determined and successful.
