1st Annual NRHS Scholarship 5K Run
New Richmond High School will be hosting its first ever NRHS Scholarship 5K Run as part of the cross country home (NRHS) invitational on September 26th, 2009 at 10:00 am. The race is open to anyone that is not part of a high school cross country team. The cost of the race is $5, and 100% of the money raised will be put into a scholarship fund that will award an annual scholarship to a NRHS male and female (senior) cross country runner. Please be at the race (New Richmond High School) by 8:45 am to register. If you have any questions or would like to volunteer to help at the event, please contact Coach Shebesta at shebesta_r@nrschools.org.

Lions defeat Blanchester 38-0 in scrimmage

Lady Lions win at Goshen
Congratulations to the girls tennis team for defeating Goshen in their first league match. Winners included Kody Blankenship at 1st singles, Megan Tucker and Sarah Jones at 1st doubles, and Vada Stillwell and Miranda Stillwell at 2nd doubles.
NRSF Pig Roast/Meet the Team is Saturday
The New Richmond Lions Sports Foundation will host its 8th annual Pig Roast and Meet the Team Night Saturday, Aug. 22 at 6 p.m. at the stadium. The event is open to the public.

Parent Meeting (Sat. August 22nd)
There will be a brief meeting for parents of the NRHS cross country team this Sat., August 22nd in Mr. Shebesta's room (305). Parents of girls team members will meet from 4:20 pm - 4:40 pm. Parents of boys team members will meet from 4:40 pm to 5:00 pm.
Lions scrimmage Blanchester Friday
The New Richmond football Lions will play their final tuneup for the 2009 season when they scrimmage the Blanchester Wildcats at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21 at Blanchester. There will be a small admission charge for the game.
It will be a game-situation scrimmage with varsity and jv teams playing.

The Lions open the 2009 regular season at home against Deer Park at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 28.

New Richmond Golf
The New Richmond Golf team has already began their season. The team is made up of 15 young men and women. The team has 2 juniors, 2 sophomores, and 11 freshmen. The team started the season on August 11th at the Batavia Invitational at Elks Run Golf Course. The team finished 7th out of 8 teams. The team traveled to White Oak Golf Course for the Eastside Challenge. The team once again finished 7th out of 8 teams, but junior Tyler Flood shot a sterling 82 to take 1st runner up honors. The team has been working hard and each individual keeps getting alittle better each day. The team next travels to Deer Track in Goshen for a match with Goshen on Monday August 24th at 4:00.
Lady Lions win 4 of 5 matches at Purcell-Marian
Last night the Lady Lions volleyball team scrimmaged against Purcell Marion and won 4 out of the 5 games played. The JV won 2 out of the 5.
JV coach Jamie Kipfer said they were all very good games and only lost in overtime and by 3-4 points.
The varsity played well for the 1st scrimmage and now they know more of what they need to concentrate on. Our next scrimmage is Tuesday8/25 at Ripley.
