Sectional Wrestling Meet
The Sectional Wrestling Meet is at Batavia this year. Wrestling starts at 6:00 pm on Friday and 11:00 am on Saturday.
Lady Lions Get Tournament Win
The Lady Lions Girls basketball team scored their first tournament win in several years last night defeating Aiken 28-21. The #5 seeded Aiken entered game with a 13-7 record playing out of the Cincinnati Metro Conference boasting a strong inside game and quick and aggressive guard play. The Lady Lions countered with a stifling zone that proved too strong for Aiken who were held in check the entire game with most of their points coming in transition. Senior Reno Frayne led the way with 14 points and 11 rebounds while Freshmen Josie Buckingham chipped in 9 points and collected 14 rebounds. Sarah Shoemaker topped off the rest of the scoring with 5 points and provided solid ball handling against the athletic Aiken guards.
The girls play in the Sectional Semi-Finals vs Finneytown Tuesday, Feb 22 @ Withrow HS at 7:30. Presale tickets can be purchased in the HS office during school hours.

GREAT WEEKEND FOR NEW RICHMOND SWIMMERS
Alex Ariapad qualified for the District swim meet in the 100 yd. Butterfly with a time of 1:03.68 he finished in 23rd place. The 200yd. Free Relay comprised of Robbie Workman, Colt Reese, Tyler David and Alex Ariapad also made it to Districts with a time of 1:45.17, they finished in 21st place. The District swim meet is held at Miami University on Friday, Feb. 18 at 10:45 a.m.
Kara Burns qualified for the District swim meet in the 500 yd. Freestyle with a time of 5:48.70, she finished in 15th place. She will swim on Sat., Feb. 19 at 10:45 a.m. at Miami University.

Watch SBAAC wrestling finals
New Richmond placed 10 wrestlers in the finals of Saturday's 2011 Southern Buckeye Conference wrestling championships at Amelia High School and won five championships in winning the American division title by more than 100 points over second-place Bethel-Tate.

Boys Basketball vs Western Brown
The Varsity Boys basketball team beat a solid Western Brown team Saturday night by a score of 54-38. On senior night, the lions were determined to come out victorious. Nick Hill led the way with 20 points and Jake Gundler punched in 10 points. Senior Shane Campbell had 8 points; Senior Joey McCabe had 5 points and Seniors Steven Binder and Zak Ritter had 4 points each. Many players were responisble for things that did not show up in the stat book. The Lions defense was swarming and held Western Brown to a season low of 38 points. The Lions next travel to CCD on Tuesday.
Lions pound out another SBAAC title
The Wrestling team traveled to Amelia yesterday in an attempt to repeat as SBAAC champs. The goal was accomplished in dominating fashion. The Lions won the title by about 100 points! The TEAM is peaking at the right time. All fourteen wrestlers contributed to the victory.
First team SBAAC league all-stars; Austin Skaggs, Cody Gabelman, Sam Anderson, Ryan Zawacki and JR Forsee. Second Team SBAAC league all-stars; Jordon Hooks, Brody Hooks, Cory English, Kevin Reid and James White. Honorable Mention; Clay Loadman and Brandon Mues. Lions coach Deron Shinkle was named American Division Coach of the Year.
