NR to host SBAAC Youth/Middle School football clinic

Thomas More College head football coach James Hilvert and former Bengals placekicker Doug Pelfrey head the list of speakers at the Southern Buckeye Conference youth/middle school football clinic for all area coaches April 5 at New Richmond Elementary School.

Other speakers include SBAAC head coaches Josh Stratton of New Richmond, Evan Dreyer of Western Brown and Chris Majors of Norwood, assistant coaches Patrick Burke from Covington Catholic, Mike Davis from Scott County High School along with New Richmond assistants Josh Wade, Ben Osborne and Pat Fagan. Other speakers include Adam Szabo, Owner of Speed Applications, and Robert Wooten, New Richmond High School football team chaplain and Fellowship of Christian Athletics sponsor.

“Our hope is to help the feeder system coaches in the pursuit of better instruction and organization,” said Stratton. “Good high school coaches do everything they can to learn from college coaches and it is our hope that the area’s youth coaches will do anything and everything to learn from us.”

Cost is $15 for pre-registration and $20 at the door with lunch provided.  Pre-Registration ends Wednesday April 3. Same day registration begins at 7:50 a.m. April 5 with the clinic starting at 8:20 a.m. in the school’s gym/cafeteria area.

“This is a great opportunity for our youth/MS coaches to better their instruction to elevate the level of play within our league and promote the greatest sport in the world,” said Stratton, who went 9-1 in his first year at New Richmond in 2013.
