Lady Lions Victorious in Home Opener
The NR Lady Lions Basketball team opened their season in winning fashion on their home court last night vs Mariemont 49-23. The girls were led by a dominating performance by Josie Buckingham who led all scorers with 23 points and also had 14 rebounds and 8 blocks. Seniors Sarah Shoemaker and Mikaela Rupp added 8 points each providing clutch scoring from the perimeter. The girls' stingy team defense was key holding the visiting team to 8 total field goals and 3 points in the 3rd quarter. The Lady Lions open SBAAC play on Thursday @ CNE at 730.

Hall of Fame Nominations
The nominations for the 2012 Hall of Fame are due December 7th. Please have them returned to me no later than the end of school on the 7th. The Hall of Fame Banquet will be 6:00pm on January 21st following the boys varsity game vs Williamsburg. Listed is the events for the day.

Lions go undefeated in preview.
Cody Gabelman, Tyler Loyd and JR Forsee go undefeated at Graham High School wrestling preview Saturday night. Cody dominated his opponent with an impressive 8-2 victory. Tyler "escaped" with a 1-0 victory, scoring the only point in the second period. JR controlled the action from start to finish with a 3-0 win.
Next up for the Varsity Wrestling Lions is the Roger Bacon Duals Saturday, December 3 @ 10am. The Lions are lead by ten seniors and look to three-peat as SBAAC League and Sectional Champs! The road starts Saturday and ends in Columbus at the state meet in March!
The Junior Varsity Wrestling Lions begin the season Saturday also. They will travel to Wilmington, action starts at 10am. Coach Minor expects to have a strong team and continue the winning tradition at New Richmond! WE ARE NR!

Second event to benefit Nate Kramer
New Richmond High School has added a second event on Dec. 18 to benefit the ‘Nate Kramer Medical Fund’. Kramer, a 2007 graduate and record-holding swimmer, was diagnosed with Leukemia last June following the completion of his collegiate swimming career at the University of Cincinnati.
After being cut from basketball in middle school, Kramer switched to swimming and went on to set school records in the 200-meter and 500-meter freestyles, the 200 Individual Medley and the 100-meter backstroke and won a scholarship to swim for UC.
The first benefit will be held at the high school pool after school on Nov. 22 featuring the high school swimming team joining the University of Cincinnati swim team in holding a “Ted Mullin Hour of Power” cancer awareness swim relay from 3 to 4 p.m. The swim relay is open to the public which is encouraged to make a donation to the fund.
“The Nov. 22 event will only be open to NR swimmers, not the general public,” said event organizer Sue Griffin. “We're saving the public swim until our ‘Fight for Nate’ benefit on Dec. 18.”
The Dec. 18 event will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. and New Richmond High School and will include:
Zumba-thon in the school gym; $5 per hour of Zumba
Swim-a-thon in the school pool; $5 per hour open swim
Bake sale in school lobby. Small baked goods as well as whole cakes and goodie baskets perfect for the holiday season. Prices range from $.50-$30.
Music Video festival in the school theatre from 4-5p.m. Students in the Poetry in Rock Music and TV production classes made music videos and we picked the best ones to show. $5 admission
Vendors in the school cafeteria, including Avon, Mary Kay, Silpada, Pampered Chef, Longaberger baskets, New Richmond Alpaca Farm, and many other local crafters and artisans. All vendors are donating at least 15% of their sales to Nate’s family. The perfect opportunity for those last-minute shoppers!
Pictures with Santa in the cafeteria; we’ll have Santa available for photos with kids of all ages. Cost is expected to be $5-10. We will also have two Newfoundland dogs dressed up for Christmas who will also be available for photos.
Raffle/silent auction. Many, many great items have been donated that would make great Christmas gifts for others or yourself.
Hoxworth Blood Drive in the school library. Anyone able and willing to donate blood may participate.
Swim caps for sale ($5) with the event logo.
T-shirts for sale ($10) with the event logo.
