Lady Lions vs Lady Eagles

It's been tough staying warm for the first two games! Today was bitter cold with no sun & the wind whipping across the field. We had another tough loss today. The Lady Eagles scored 5 runs in the first two innings & then the Lady Lion's stepped up the defense & held them to no runs for the last 5 innings. Sophomore, Bethany Smith, went 5 innings in her first varsity game as a pitcher. We were knocking at the door a couple of times, but just couldn't close the door. We had a double play in the 6th inning, Bethany (pitcher) to Sari (catcher), to Sarah (first) that got us out of a tough situation, bases were loaded.

Lions win opener on new complex

The Lions opened the school's new baseball complex with an exciting 4-3 win over Norwood on Monday.

Zach Ritter pitched four innings and fanned six batters and was the winning pitcher and scored the winning run for the Lions in the bottom of the 7th inning. Ritter, a senior, smashed a double to the gap in left center, advanced to third on a passed ball and scored on an errant throw to third.

Steven Binder started for the Lions and recorded five strike outs in three innings.

Lady Lions open new ball field

The Lady Lions softball team opened the new softball complex Monday against Fayetteville and came up short by a 5-3 score. New Richmond will host Milford on Tuesday before starting Southern Buckeye Conference play on Wednesday when the Lady Lions host Clermont Northeastern. Game time is 4:30 p.m.

New ball fields open Monday, March 28

New Richmond's new baseball and softball fields will be dedicated Monday, March 28 with a baseball game against Norwood at 4:30 p.m. and a softball game against Fayetteville at 5 p.m.

Dedication ceremonies at the baseball field will begin at 4:15 p.m.

4:15-4:25 Introductions and comments by Mr. Adam Bird, Superintendent of NR Schools.

4:25-4:27 National Anthem (Singer Mr. John Hale, VFW and American Legion color guard Color Guard led by Mr. Ralph Shepherd)

4:27-4:30 Introduction of Todd Benzinger and John Duncan and Ceremonial First Pitch

The softball field dedication ceremonies will begain at 4:45 p.m.

4:45-4:55 Introductions and comments by superintendent Adam Bird.

4:55-4:57 National Anthem (Singer Kallie Long, VFW and American Legion color guard Color Guard led by Mr. Ralph Shepherd)

4:57-5:00 Introduction of Cari Stroud, Darcy Strickmeyer and Lana Gilday for the Ceremonial First Pitch.

Reno Frayne plays in East-West all-star game

Lady Lions senior Reno Frayne will play in the Cincinnati East-West girls basketball game at 6 p.m. Wednesday at St. Bernard High School. You can listen to the game on Newrichmond.localsportsradio.com with Lady Lions coach Brad Hatfield and Jack Scott calling the action.

Turf Fields

As most of you know on March 28th we will be opening up on our new turf fields for both our baseball and softball teams. Also as most of you know we can not wear metal cleats on the fields. However we can wear shoes with molded cleats or turf shoes. If you would have football or soccer shoes that you are not using we would like to have them in stock for visiting teams that only bring metal cleats. Please bring them into the office if you would be willing to donate them. Thanks so much and we look forward to seeing you at one of our games.
